Honeybees and syrphid flies visit Commelina flowers to collect pollen and to feed pollen directly from the anthers, respectively. All honeybees visiting the flowers are female and have stings (ovipositors) to protect themselves against natural enemies. As for syrphid flies, they don't have such special tools against natural enemies. So they mimic honeybees.
