Aphidiid parasitoids are known as natural enemies of aphids. In recent years, they have been registered and merchandized as biological control agents. They parasitize both adult and larval aphids. They bend their abdomen forward in a peculiar way and lay eggs in aphids. Many individuals may compete for a single aphid. Their aggressive behavior is similar to the egg-laying behavior, in which they use ovipositors. In the video, aphids emitted secretion (alarm pheromones) from the siphunculus in order to alarm other aphids for parasitoid attacks. The parasitoid with the alarm secretion on its body was trying hard to cleaning it off.
