Citrus red mites are small mites about 0.8 mm long. They are pest insects of citrus fruits and are distributed all over the world. The video captured a male-male competition for a nymph-stage female. A male is waiting for a female to emerge so that it could copulate with it. The male needs to chase off other approaching males. Two competing males often end up with grappling with each other, but a male could win a fight only when it attacks the opponent from the side. A male is holding the other and appears to be giving blows by moving its proboscis, but details are not clear. The loser of the fight remains motionless whereas the winner approaches the loser several times as if to confirm it is still.
