After breeding season, the adult seals mate.
The scars are caused by fighting betweeen mals in breeding
season later stage. They respond with growing, aggressive
flipper-waving, head-butting, scratching, or biting. It seems to
carry out most fightings at the night. To observe such intense
fighting is for the first time.
