Eunice aphroditois is a large polychaete worm, reaching sometimes over 1m in total length.
It is nocturnal and hides itself in a rocky crevice in the daytime. At night it extends the body out of the hiding place (nest) and searches for food. Upon detecting a predator, it quickly retreats back into the nest.
This is an individual kept in an aquarium (body width of about 1.5 cm). It lives under a dead coral.
