A Morpho amathonte male is flying along the road at Soberania National Park in Panama in the morning. We can often see both M. amathonte and M. peleides males flying along this road. The brilliant blue coloration is structural and only on the upperside of male wings, while the underside is cryptic with reddish brown cast and small eyespots.
