This video picture shows territorial fights between male Kijika frogs. Five seconds after the start of the picture, you can hear an advertisement call (See another video picture Advertisement call of Kajika Frog (Buergeria buergeri), momo060824bb01b, for an advertisement call). The identity of the caller is unknown (The caller might be an individual out of the frame of the picture). In reply to the first call, a male at the far back of the picture makes an advertisement call. You can see its throat moving. Then an individual at the front of the picture replies in a different call. This call is called an aggressive call and is used during male-male aggressive interactions. In reply to this aggressive call, the one that previously was making an advertisement call makes an aggressive call as well. After several exchanges of aggressive calls, the one at the front made its last call and left. See another video picture Extended fight in Kajika frog for an escalated fight. (translated by Asoh)
