I placed a speaker close to a territorial male Kajika frog (at the back of the frame) and broadcasted playback of another males call. An experiment like this is called Playback experiment. A frog close to the speaker is a dummy.
When the territorial male made an advertisement call (See another video picture Advertisement call of Kajika Frog (Buergeria buergeri) for an advertisement call), I broadcasted, in reply, playback of an aggressive call. The male frog replied in aggressive calls, and there were exchanges of calls between the frog and the speaker (See another video picture Exchange of aggressive calls during agonistic interactions in Kajika frog (Buergeria buergeri) for a call exchange between live frogs). I kept broadcasting playback of aggressive calls and the frog ran away. I could say that the speaker won this fight. Although I placed a dummy frog, it was completely ignored by the male frog.
