The oviposition behaviour of the gregarious tachinid fly, Bessa parallela, on Pryeria sinica larvae was observed in the field. In accordance with the movement of the host larva, the female fly approached the host and quickly laid a white egg on the thorax of the host. The host larva attempted to destroy the egg immediately after it was laid, but its mandibles did not reach the egg.
