A male fiddler crab (Uca lactea) captured a conspecific female and took her into his burrow. It is not clear yet that the male preyed on the female or tried to bring her into his burrow for mating. Cannibalism is reported in Uca annulipes (same genus; see Milner et al. 2010), and forced copulation is commonly observed in Scopimera globosa (same family; see Henmi et al. 1993).
