The song that was assumed to belong to an Asian Koel Eudynamis scolopacea was recorded using a digital voice recorder in Miyake Island of the Izu Islands on 10 June 2016. The song was identified as that of an Asian Koel by comparing the sonograms of the songs of E. scolopacea, E. melanorhynchus and E.orientalis. This is the first record of Asian Koels in the Izu Islands.
