This is a video that a small water strider Microvelia horvathi male approaches the female from her behind in a laboratory.
It is classified two patterns of approach: the male approaches apparently slowly (stalking) or approaches quickly (non-stalking). This video shows the former.
The approaching male jumped up and attempted to copulate, but the female rejected by shaking and kicking in this video.
