Second calendar-year female Crested Honey Buzzard in Morioka Zoological Park ZOOMO.
Response to playback of rattling call of Crested Honey Buzzard in Taiwan.

In response to a rattling call of an adult female
Crested Honey Buzzard in Taiwan, the Morioka bird
initially only turned the head as in the experiment
momo211209pp03b.
The Laughing Kookaburra called loudly and possibly
disturbed the experiment. When the Laughing Kookaburra
became silent, the Morioka bird scratched the head by
the foot, showed some movement on the perch, and preened
itself for a short period.
The bird then became calmer just as in the experiment
momo211209pp03b.
During all experiments (momo211209pp03b, momo211209pp04b
and this), the bird sometimes opened the beak probably
due to hotness. Beak opening was most obvious during
the later half of this experiment.
Although the bird is known to frequently give begging
calls upon the appearance of the zoo staff in the cage,
the bird was found to be very calm after each experiment.
Only one time in momo211209pp04b, the bird half opened
the wings upon the appearance of the zoo staff.
