When mosses and lichens scraped from rock or concrete-brick surface are submerged in water for a while, many organisms (such as water bears, rotifers, and protests) which had been diapausing under dry conditions start to move. This nematode is one of such organisms. It is sticking to a slide glass by the adhesive material secreted from its tail organ. As a nematode only have longitudinal muscles (i.e., does not have circular muscles), it can not move like an earth warm, which moves by changing the thickness of various parts of body. Rather, a nematode moves in a jumping manner.
