When trying to catch a cicada with a net, we sometimes receive a drop or two of urine from the escaping cicada.
In the video, I poked a cicada Cryptotympana facialis with a stick. The cicada urinated as it took flight.
It is hypothesized that a cicada can decrease its weight by urination and hence can fly away from the enemy with a higher speed. (translated by Asoh)
