The video was filmed in the garden of the housing complex where I live. When I looked at a bamboo forest over the terrace, I saw a bird a little larger than a dove. As it had piercing eyes like those of hawks, I watched it closely. It was holding something in the legs. I took out a video camera in a hurry and started filming. The prey looked like a mole (or a field mouse?).
Although there remain some agricultural fields around, I live in a residential area, just about 200 m away from the Kohshu Road. The local people were all surprised at the sighting of the Sparrowhawk.
The picture was filmed for about 24 minutes from 10:12 to 10:38 A.M.
The picture is a little blurred as I was holding the camera by hand while filming. (translated by Asoh)
