At about 12:10, a group of birds, presumably a group of cranes, were flying over Nagasaki Institute of Applied Science. They were calling each other. After circling above the institute for a while, the group headed northwest in a V-formation. You can hear crane calls in the video picture. It is not clear which species of cranes they are. They probably are Grus vipio (Manazuru) or Grus monacha (Nabezuru), on their way back to Siberia after wintering at the Izumi Plain in Kagoshima Prefecture. Northward migration of cranes starts in February in Izumi and there are almost no cranes left in April. (translated by Asoh)
