Predation by Frances¡Çs sparrowhawk on the nestling of the Madagascar paradise flycatcher was recorded during the video observation of the flycatcher¡Çs nest. A Frances¡Çs sparrowhawk found the nest of the flycatcher and perched on it. The nesting tree (small sapling) was bended by the weight of the sparrowhawk, and once she left the nest. Soon after that the sparrowhawk perched on the nest again, picked up the nestling with the bill and flied away. During the predation incident, parents of the flycatcher called and attacked the sparrowhawk, but the attack seems to have no effect to drive the predator away. Frances¡Çs sparrowhawk is a most common Accipiter species in Madagascar and the Comoros.
