Stream salamander often dominate in uppermost stream in which stream salmonid, the potential predator of stream salamander, can't inhabit.
1) larval Odaigahara salamander(Hynobius boulengeri) tried to prey on larval Japanese clawed salamander (Onychodactylus japonicus).
2) adult Odaigahara salamander had preyed on larval Japanese clawed salamander.
