A cercaria of Parabucephalopsis parasiluri, an introduced pathogenic parasite of fishes. The cercaria swims out of its first intermediate host (the introduced golden mussel, Limnoperna fortunei) and invades the second intermediate host (many species of fishes). Some second intermediate hosts, in particular cyprinids, show sickly conditions with hemorrhages by heavy infection of cercariae.
