Zatypota albicoxa (Ichneumonidae) is known as an ectoparasitoid parasitizing Parasteatoda (=Achaearanea) tepidariorum (Theridiidae) that forms an irregular three dimensional web. How does this wasp oviposit to the host spider protected by its web around?
This wasp perches on one of the underslung threads for capture stringed vertically and imitates a prey to facilitate approach of the host spider.
Unfortunately the moment of attack of the wasp (the spider craned the wasp and then the wasp paralyzed the spider) was not recorded in this animation but the wasp showing ambush style can be watched. The behavior that the wasp hangs on the thread with its legs moving can also be watched. It may an action to give the spider awareness.
