This movie showing the attack and oviposition behavior of Elasmus polistis (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae), a ectoparasitoid gregarious of prepual and mabe pupa of the wasp Polistes versicolor (Hymenoptera: Vespidae), in natural condictions.
We found that E. polistis remains a period of several seconds (n= 20) flew around of the nest of P. versicolor from distances of about 05 10 cm. The wasp attacked directly to the open cell nest of the wasp hosp. When the hosp perceive the presence of parasitoid, they flap their wings in an attempt to stop the attack.
