On February 20, 2013 (around 4:15 pm), I had a glimpse, through my backyard door in Hialeah, Florida, of a knight anole (Anolis equestris) jumping and holding a small lizard in its mouth, from a fallen coconut tree toward a papaya plant (Carica papaya). A minute later, a closer look while videotaping the event clearly indicated that the prey was a young individual of the same species, easily recognizable by the characteristic whitish axillary stripe and banded tail
