Supplementary Video S1.
An example movie clip of the strike-triggered chase, in which the snake (Elaphe quadrivirgata) was not able to change its strike direction during striking and was not able to restart chasing for a while after the strike cessation. This event was recorded in an extra-experiment that was not included in the present analysis. This video was taken by a high-speed camera (999.6 Hz).
Supplementary Video S2.
An example movie clip of the flight-triggered chase observed in the experiment. The snake (Elaphe quadrivirgata) exhibited striking toward the frog (Pelophylax nigromaculatus) in mid-air during the first escape jumping in which the trajectory of the frog was consistently parabolic, although the frog barely escaped from this strike.
