The larvae of Osmylus hyalinatus are semiaquatic insects inhabiting the water's edge of small streams and ponds. This larva sprays a hyaline liquid from an anal opening if disturbed. The newt Cynops pyrrhogaster eaten this larva regurgitated it immediately.
