Reports of aerial casque-butting by Helmeted Hornbills (Rhinoplax vigil) are rare. On 22 March 2013, we (Yoichi Inoue, Eddy Doin & Waidi Sinun) observed this behavior while we were following wild gibbons near the Gunung Kuli Research Station in Imbak Canyon Conservation Area, Sabah, Malaysia. This interaction lasted for 40 minutes from 8:00 to 8:40 a.m.
